Background

The AI-Driven Decision-Making in Finance book project is part of our "AI in Finance initiative", including workshops and book projects. 

Supported by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) and TÜBİTAK, our workshops have gained considerable academic recognition and established themselves as a prominent platform for scholarly exchange. 

Together with our book project, the two new fundings from TCMB and TÜBİTAK (two top academic/research funding institutions in Türkiye), represents another important milestone in the continued development of our initiative. 

These achievements also reaffirm the strong position of our AI in Finance project—made possible through valuable contributions by academics from all over the world (over 10 countries from Europe, America, Asia and Africa). 

About the Book

AI is changing how financial institutions analyse data, assess risk, make investment decisions and govern increasingly complex systems. AI-Driven Decision-Making in Finance explores these developments through practical case studies and expert analysis, with particular attention to the real-world application of AI in finance.

The book examines topics including AI in central banking, forecasting, data governance, robo-advisory, credit scoring, investment decision-making, ethical AI, risk management and digital currencies. It also addresses the regulatory, ethical, security and moral challenges surrounding the use of AI in financial decision-making, helping readers understand both the opportunities and the governance implications of adoption.

Readers will take away a conceptual and practical understanding of AI and digitalization as well as real-world practical case studies, so that they can be applied appropriately in a workplace setting. It aims to differentiate itself by focusing more specifically on the practical realities of AI and digital transformation in decision-making processes within finance, offering actionable guidance and real-world case study or implications, which are less emphasized in most other competitors.

About the Editor

Dr Bilal Bagis is an economist, instructor, strategist, columnist and consultant with experience across academia and the private sector. He has taught economics, mathematics and finance at universities including UC Berkeley and leading institutions in Türkiye.

His research and professional interests focus particularly on macroeconomic and financial stability and the effectiveness of policymaking.
